I'm in a better shape right now then I was in winter but that doesn't mean I'm totally OK. But I got the energy back, at least partially. To make things even better, I started working out, eating sensibly and changed a bunch of cosmetics I use for natural ones. My newest discovery is amla. I have a cleansing shampoo with amla that works wonders on my hair, and my hair returned to the volume it had before winter and constant dying it red (I'm going back to my original colour next week), but there was still a problem with its condition, so I thought about oiling it. I use oiling as a cleansing method on my face but on hair it works differently. First, I tried coconut oil but it didn't gave me the results I was expecting (neither on my face, but it is good for my skin so I use it in bath now and consider eating it as well) so I bought amla oil and it is WONDERFUL. I cannot stress it enough. I know some oils work better for some people than others, so I'd recommend trying before you settle with one, but amla works for me. I even like the smell of it, which many people complain about. And my hair looks as if I could take part in a commercial for some hair product: it is slick, and silky, and straight, and shiny. Also, I don't have to wash my hair every day now. It is said that amla enhances the growth of the hair as well, but I'll have to wait to see it. Fortunately, my skin (because of the oiling, I guess) is in a wonderful shape after winter, so I don't have to take care of it much, and my next project is going to be nails, which are in atrocious shape, TBH. But worry not, I already have a plan.

Other than this, this past week I resigned from taking part in writing two blogs and I already feel better. I try to let go of things that drag me down - I don't like having responsibilities that much anymore. We shall see what happens next.

Which does not happen very often, let me tell you. I had lots of free time (very boring conference) so I did all my Italian learning but since I decided to skip the actual lesson today, I think I'll do all the verbs I know in present tense on separate slips of paper - then I can revise them easily. I'll also try to see what we were going to do today - plural nouns for sure, but there were six pages of material this week. I also gossiped and something good came out of it - at least I hope one of my collegues stopped being worried about his future so much.

And then my new shoes arrived, and me new leather jacket, and I organized my jewellery.

And the karma paid me back in a free Thursday - how cool is that? It means that even if i count today as a working day, I only worked twice this week.

That is all.

OK, one more thing, because I feel like ranting today.

I've been slowly, over the past few weeks, becoming addicted to Benedict Cumberbatch, and, as many other women all around the world, I though it would be a good idea to work my way through his filmography while waiting for the third series of "Sherlock". I started with "Third Star".

That was the worst movie I've seen in ages. It was pretentious as fuck, with shots of nature or walking people on the cliff every few scenes, wooden dialogues, only two acceptably developed characters - and I disliked them both, shitty main motif, scenes that didn't bring anything into the film, atrocious screenplay, even more atrocious direction and awful cinematography.

Still, the fangirls over on tumblr loved it, and naturally praised Benedict's acting, and I was like WTF?

His acting was better than his collegues but that was it. It wasn't impressive, it was average, and frankly, quite disappointing to watch. Now I understand that you're all fangirls, I am too, but surely that doesn't mean you've gone blind, have you? Or lost your taste completely? Or started to think that whatever your celebrity crush touches turns into gold? Beacuse that, my ladies, would have been awful.

Bardzo, bardzo bym chciała, żeby Teatr Rozrywki rozpoczął już sprzedaż biletów na "Wielkiego Gatsby'ego", bo potem zabraknie miejsca dla mnie.

I feel I might have (again) invested a bit too much of my emotions in fictional characters, namely Sherlock and John, and it's time for me to do something else. I turned back to "The Good Wife", as it is awesome, and I want Diane's wardrobe (or just to be Diane, TBH) but I'm not sure it will work, because what I really want is to discuss Sherlock at great detail.

Also, I fear I might be turning into someone I don't want to be. On 29th of Jan I've got a trip to Cracow planned (meticulously) and I'm so excited for it I can't think straight. I might have even already bought a book by Bradbury about "Moby Dick" - and I hate "Moby Dick" - from a bookstore I want to visit.

How pathetic is that?

It started snowing yesterday so that can only mean one thing - I'm baking a cinnamon bread with walnuts today.

In other news, I'm not a big fan of 2012 so far. I made a few mistakes back in December and now I'm paying for them - I really hate making mistakes, y'know, I don't care if it makes us human.

I'm also starting to learn Italian. Wait, that's wrong, I had learned Italian for three years but then I forgot everything, but I'm starting again on Wednesday. Wish me luck.

Good things today:

1. I just ate a whole packet of Haribo bears.

2. I watched "How To Train Your Dragon" Christmas Special and Toothless' look saying "Oh look, it's got broken somehow, I don't know when it happened!" was priceless.

3. "Face Off" is back for 2nd season, yay!

I'm slowly making peace with you, 2012, don't screw this up.

Był wczoraj. Słońce, dobre humory, warsztaty dekorowania pierniczków i na koniec film, który lubię. Nawet przedświąteczne porządki sprawiały przyjemność.

A pierniczki (własne, nie warsztatowe) udekorowałam już prawie wszystkie. Została mi jedna puszka pełna świnek do polukrowania. Strasznie do fajne jest, chyba mam nowe hobby. :>

Ja: (wchodzę do szkoły) Dzień dobry.

Woźna: Pani Olu, chce się pani przywitać z ojcem Pio?

Ja: WTF?

I'm finishing the holiday cleaning, today I cleaned the big wardrobe in the corridor, and the only place left is the top of bookshelves (meh). Technically speaking, I also finished baking gingerbread this year, they only need to be decorated but I hate doing it and I'm looking for a free work force to do it for me; but were_ann modified the recipe for Swedish pepparkakors by adding a lot of cocoa and then she used my animal cutters to create beautiful cookies and I feel tempted to make some of those as well. Maybe after the 15th, when work gets easier after the exhibition in the library. Oh well.

Of all the chores I hate de-frosting the fridge the most...

Because I officially opened the Christmas preparations season this week - my husband says I'm like a Coca Cola ads in that matter, which is not true. And it is not true because I start thinking about gifts in October, so it's way before the ads!

Anyway, I made one of Nigella Lawson's Christmas chutneys - the simplest one - because the apples I got were almost going bad and I had to use them. The chutney is atrociously vinegary when you try to eat it on its own and gets heavenly tasty when eaten with meat. I already gave one jar to were_ann as she made it first and inspired me to make my own version of it.

Yesterday I finally got to make gingerbread dough, at least two weeks too late; it's fortunate I like my gingerbread hard and without icing. Maciej helped me with the flour but I guess I'll need more substantial help with baking - or I could get rid of my boys for a few hours and bake them myself. I made one portion of dough, it will be a small batch this year.

Next, I'm packing the gifts I already got.

What I liked the most, though, is the story Nergal told after her performance, about how Bruce Dickinson refused to be a coach in a British edition because he said it was "bollocks".

Ekhem. So I was busy and forgot about weekly updates for a moment, sue me. Still busy, BTW.
